Itinerary Day-5

Lulang → Kading Valley Waterfall → Basum Tso

Highlights of the Day

  • Kading Valley Waterfall (卡定沟大峡谷)

  • Basum Tso Lake (巴松措)

Morning

After breakfast, depart Lulang and head to the Kading Valley, a scenic canyon known for its spectacular waterfall. The water cascades from a height of over 200 meters, crashing down the cliff into a mist-filled pool below. Surrounded by dense forests and steep rock walls, the valley is often called a “natural oxygen bar” thanks to its fresh air and lush greenery. The thundering waterfall combined with the tranquil setting makes this one of the most refreshing spots in Nyingchi.

Afternoon

Continue your journey to Basum Tso, also known as “Little Switzerland of Tibet.” This sacred lake, located more than 3,700 meters above sea level, is famous for its emerald-green waters, snow-capped peaks, and surrounding forests. In the center of the lake lies a small island with a centuries-old temple, adding a touch of mystery and spirituality to the breathtaking natural scenery. Basum Tso is considered both a natural wonder and a holy site, making it a highlight of any journey through eastern Tibet.
